2nd National Congress of Religious Studies and Theology
Ladies and Gentlemen,
The Center for European Studies and the Center for American Studies invite you to participate in the 2nd National Congress of Religious Studies and Theology.
When?
The congress will be held on Friday, January 10, 2025, between 4:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. online on the Microsoft Teams platform.
The length of the congress depends on the number of speakers. In the event of a high number of applications, we reserve the right to extend the congress to Saturday, January 11, 2025.
What is the Congress about?
The main goal of the congress is to discuss topics related to religious studies, theology, history of religion and interdisciplinary perspectives on religion.
We will address the issues discussed both from the perspective of contemporary challenges and historical experiences. The events may affect Poland and Europe, as well as other areas of the world.
Proposed (exemplary) thematic areas
• Contemporary challenges for religion and theology in a post-secular society.
• Interreligious dialogue: seeking common understanding and cooperation.
• Religion and science: contexts, conflicts and opportunities for dialogue.
• Spiritual revitalization: the search for transcendence in modern society.
• Directions of theological development.
• World religions: Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism and others.
• Religion and ethics in today's world: social responsibility and values.
• Religious identity in the era of globalization: loss and recovery of tradition.
• Religion and ecology: the role of faith in protecting the natural environment.
• Religion and politics: the impact of beliefs and values on the public sphere.
• New directions in the study of religion and theology: interdisciplinary approaches and methodologies.
The thematic areas indicated above are examples only - we strongly encourage you to go beyond their framework.
Moreover, the presentations may be interdisciplinary in nature, combining various fields of science.
We believe in freedom of academic discussion and do not censor speeches for ideological, political or religious reasons.
Original and unique speeches will always be appreciated by the Scientific Committee.

• We cordially invite students and PhD students, experienced researchers, as well as all other people interested in the congress topics to actively participate in the congress.
• Passive participation does not require any scientific qualifications.
